The begining....

Okay so this is my first post in my concert blog. I guess I should start at the begining....

Growing up as a little girl I never remember the exact point in which I got into music. I do however, remember being highly influeced by what I was exsposed to.

Though my pre teen years were spent being a total teeny bopper listening to the Spice Girls (of course) and other groups of that calaber, it was when I got into Rock that really made LOVE music.

I remember watching Bon Jovi videos and hearing my older sister play his albums. I also remember that I got into Our Lady Peace after hearing my other sister play their albums over and over on drives around the town.

My first concert was in Grade 7. Mind you after getting into Our Lady Peace my heart was broken when I couldn't attend the Summersault music festival (OLP, Foo Fighters, eve 6, etc). I was too young apparently.

But in grade 7 my time came to go see a music festival on Cidital Hill here in Halifax. This was a show featuring Big Sugar, Great Big Sea and a little unknown to ME band called LIVE...

I knew their hits, but I certianly wouldn't have called mysefl a fan back then. I remember when they hit the stage, it was like this instant connection. As cheesy as it sounds it really was a magical thing to exepreince for the first time, the energy...the lights and sounds. Everything about it! I couldn't have pickeda better band to loose my concert virginity to and ever since that hot summer night on Cidital Hill I have been a die-hard Live fan.

They just realeased a live cd (yes...LIVE has a LIVE cd). Its amazing. Still to this day I get goosebumps when I hear their songs, especially Lightening Crashes. Theres no touching that song when it comes to that feeling you get when they play it live and the whole crowd sings in unision.

So heres to the band that started all, and who I have so much respect and love for!

I have seen Live twice. And the second time around was almost better then the first.
